It is with profound sadness and deepest sympathy that we commemorate Dr. Francis Ho, family physician, health educator, community volunteer, founder and past president of the Ho’s Benevolence Association of British Columbia. 

Besides serving his patients as a family physician for over fifty years, Dr. Francis Ho relentlessly spent much of his time serving others, volunteering his skillsets , giving back to society, and contributing to the community, especially benefiting the Asian and Chinese population.  His volunteerism and leadership skills are broad, including fund raiser, health educator, TV& Radio broadcaster, community leader, communicator and author. 

With his talents and tremendous efforts in organizing fundraising events, he had raised millions of dollars for various foundations and organizations, including the Mount Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation, Canadian Liver Foundation, & Kung Kuo Foundation.   These funds had been used to upgrade hospital medical equipments and for research, health education, childcare facility, unit apartments for the low-income families.  All these have made the community a better place to live for the young, elderly and the underprivileged population. 

Dr. Francis Ho has excelled as public health educator and health advocate through organizing numerous health forums, guest speaking on TV talk shows, and Radio Programs, promoting health and medical knowledge to the community.  These activities have enhanced public health awareness, building a stronger and overall healthier community. 

Dr. Francis Ho also put in tremendous efforts educating the next generation of physicians.  He taught, medical students, family practice residents and foreign medical graduates.  He was awarded Fellowship in the College of Family Physicians of Canada, and Clinical Professor Emeritus from the University of British Columbia. 

We have the distinct privilege and honour to serve under the leadership of Dr. Francis Ho, who served as the Chairman of the Ho’s Benevolence Association since its inception.  He had the vision of actively encouraging young students to strive for excellence and giving back to the University and the community. He established the Ho’s Benevolence Association of B.C. Scholarship, raises funds and award to outstanding students in need entering University to continue their education, thus benefiting the next generation in our community.  Even at his advanced age of 89, his enthusiasm for volunteerism and community services has not diminished. 

We offer our most sincere and deepest condolences to his family. Dr. Francis Ho will forever be remembered and treasured from the bottom of our hearts.
